Purpose of this Guide

This guide will provide information on the purpose and scope of our institutional repository SHARE @ Advocate Health - Midwest, benefits and features for individual authors as well as graduate medical education programs, various reporting capabilities and more.

Overview

An institutional repository is a digital archive for collecting, preserving, and disseminating the research and intellectual output of an organization.

This repository supports Advocate Health - Midwest's mission to help people live fully by collecting, sharing, and preserving the scholarly research and output of affiliated teammates. It will also serve as an archive to shed light on our past, chronicle our present and sketch the future of Advocate Health - Midwest.

SHARE @ Advocate Health - Midwest is a service of the Advocate Health - Midwest Library.

Started in 2014, SHARE contains around 7500 scholarly works created by Advocate Health - Midwest and its affiliated authors. These works include, but are not limited to:

  • Published journal articles, linked through Library resources or other access points
  • Book chapters and books, linked through Library resources or publisher sites
  • Conference abstracts
  • Conference posters
  • Video presentations
  • Digitized archival materials, including documents and photographs

What is in SHARE?

Scholarly Works

The primary function of SHARE is to gather the scholarly output of Advocate Health - Midwest teammates. Browsers can see scholarly works by Subject/Specialty, by Advocate graduate medical education program or by Aurora graduate medical education program.

 

SelectedWorks

SelectedWorks profiles allow individuals and graduate medical education programs to showcase their scholarly works in a semi-customizable format.

 

Journal of Patient-Centered Research and Reviews (JPCRR)

Hosted by SHARE and published quarterly, the Journal of Patient-Centered Research and Reviews (JPCRR) is a diamond open access, peer-reviewed medical journal devoted to advancing patient-centered care practices, health outcomes and patient experiences. JPCRR is indexed in PubMed Central, Directory of Open Access Journals, Google Scholar, Crossref and Web of Science’s Emerging Sources Citation Index. Events

Several events and presentations have been hosted on the repository, or recordings were posted after the event. Scientific Day content has been hosted on the repository since 2020, and Transplant Grand Rounds are available since 2012.
