Permitted Use of Our eResources
- Under the terms of the Advocate Health - Midwest Library Library's' license agreements with publishers, electronic publications and databases may be searched and single copies of non-substantial parts of a publication, may be copied for patient care, teaching, research and study by Authorized Users.
- Authorized Users are teammates, residents, students, physicians, nurse practitioners, physician assistants on Advocate Health - Midwest's medical staffs, independent contractors working with Advocate Health - Midwest, and “walk in users” (individuals using computer terminals within Advocate Health - Midwest buildings).
Authorized Users May Access, Search and Browse To:
- Incorporate links on Advocate Health - Midwest's intranet and in electronic course packs
- Send print or electronic copies of individual items from Products to other Advocate Health - Midwest Authorized Users or to third-party colleagues for their scholarly or research use
- Print out single copies of patient education handout sheets to provide to patients or customers in response to requests for medical or drug information
- Pull figures, images, tables from products to use in the creation of internal or external presentations and for training purposes provided that appropriate credit to the content owner is used, that all uses are non-commercial, and that Authorized Users obtain permission for use of content that is credited to a third party from that third party.
Authorized Users may NOT:
- Abridge, modify, translate or create any derivative work based on the subscribed products, except to the extent necessary to make them perceptible on a computer screen to Authorized Users
- Remove, obscure or modify in any way any copyright notices, other notices or disclaimers as they appear in the subscribed products
- Share usernames or passwords (unless given express permission by library management)
- Use any robots, spiders, crawlers or other automated downloading programs, algorithms or devices to continuously and automatically search, scrape, extract, deep link, index or disrupt the working of the subscribed products
- Substantially or systematically reproduce, retain, redistribute or disseminate online the subscribed products
- Data may not be copied in any format for sale or any other commercial purpose
- Post individual items from the subscribed products on social networking sites
