Creating Persistent Links to Online Resources: Ovid

Learn how to create persistent links to online journal articles and books found in Advocate Health - Midwest Library's online resources

Creating Links to Ovid Journal Articles

In Ovid, the persistent links to articles are called "Jumpstarts".

From your Ovid search results list, open up the full-text view by clicking on the title of the article or selecting the "OVID Full Text" link to the right of the article.

  1. Once the full-text view of the article opens, select the "Email Jumpstart" or "Email PDF Jumpstart" link on the right.
  2. Copy the URL that appears in the popup box. You will need to copy and paste this link into your document or email.

The LibLynx proxy prefix will automatically be added to the front of the permalink in Ovid, so there is no need to add it in again.

Creating Links to Ovid eBooks

While you are viewing an eBook, first select the share icon on the left side of the page and then copy the link to book.

The LibLynx proxy prefix is automatically embedded to this book link, so there is no need to add it in again.
