Creating Persistent Links to Online Resources: DOIs

Learn how to create persistent links to online journal articles and books found in Advocate Health - Midwest Library's online resources

Creating Persistent Links Using an Article's DOI

LibKey provides easy access to articles that the Library has subscription access to. Use the LibKey prefix + article DOI to create persistent links to journal articles that work both on and off the Advocate Health - Midwest network.

Follow the steps below to create a link using this method.

  1. Find the article's DOI. (10.1016/j.anai.2011.12.005)

  2. Add the LibKey prefix: https://libkey.io/libraries/1712/ before the DOI

LibKey and DOI

Tips:

  1. Use Notepad to create your links because Notepad doesn't add formatting to your text, unlike Microsoft Word.

  2. In most recently published articles, the DOI will be printed with the article itself, usually on the first page somewhere, or in the header or footer.

  3. You can also find DOIs in our library catalog. To find the DOI, search the article title in our catalog and scroll to the bottom of the Quick View to find the DOI.
