Creating Persistent Links to Online Resources: EBSCOhost

Learn how to create persistent links to online journal articles and books found in Advocate Health - Midwest Library's online resources

Creating Links to EBSCOhost Resources

In EBSCOhost databases (ex: CINAHL), the persistent links are called “permalinks.” These links will take users directly to the article. To find permalinks in EBSCOhost, follow these steps:

  1. From your search results list, click on the article title.
  2. On the right side of the page, under “Tools”, the Permalink icon appears as two interlocked loops. Click on this to generate the link.
  3. A popup box will appear with the URL. The LibLynx proxy prefix will automatically be embedded in front of the permalink in EBSCOhost databases, so there is no need to add the prefix if it is already there.

EXAMPLE:
https://liblynxgateway.com/aah?url=https://search.ebscohost.com/login.aspx?direct=true&db=c8h&AN=149971316&site=ehost-live
