Faculty Development Toolkit: Open Educational Resources

Faculty Development EXPRESS is intended to provide on-demand, convenient information to clinical faculty to enhance their skills as teachers. These tools are intended to promote clinical faculty development in their educational roles. The product was developed in response to requests from residency program directors and core faculty members whose clinical obligations make it difficult to attend scheduled faculty development sessions. Faculty Development EXPRESS is a packet of two-page documents describing 10 important education topics, presented in an easy-to-read, clear format.

The transition to a virtual format has been challenging for case-based teaching sessions, which involve substantial audience participation. This faculty development workshop aimed to teach health professions educators how to use various interactive virtual tools within videoconferencing platforms to facilitate virtual case-based sessions.

For medical educators, applying a systematic approach to working with struggling learners (learners in difficulty) can improve faculty success and satisfaction with the remediation process. This workshop teaches medical education faculty essential skills for supporting learners in difficulty.

Faculty are increasingly expected to teach about the impact of racism on health and to model the principles of health equity. This is a curriculum for faculty education on racism and actions to advance racial health equity.
