Remote Access to Library Resources: Overview

Learn how to get access to Advocate Health - Midwest Library resources when working remotely, or off the institutional network.

Purpose of this Guide

When accessing Advocate Health - Midwest Library resources when on an Advocate Health - Midwest network, connecting to the library resources will be seamless. But if you are not on an institutional network, you can get access to library resources "remotely" through various methods including LibLynx and Citrix StoreFront.

What is the Difference Between On-network and Off-network?

On network means logged into an Advocate Health – Midwest Region workstation, logged into the Advocate Health - Midwest network with your network ID, or signed into a VPN (Workspace, AnyConnect or Zscaler).

On-network access to library subscription resources is seamless. Start out at the library’s website, https://library.aah.org, and find quick links to your favorite resources or use the Quick Search box to find and access articles, books, and book chapters.

Off-network, or remote access means logged into the Advocate Health - Midwest guest network, or using a personal computer or mobile device.

Off-network access can be as seamless as on-network access if you start out at the library’s website, https://library.aah.org and use the links to connect to your favorite resources. When you are off-network, you will be prompted to login to LibLynx with your Advocate Health SSO credentials. Once you are logged in, keep using links on the library's website to connect to resources.

Note: Library users who are connected to the Phys_APC wireless network will need to use LibLynx to connect to library resources.
