LibKey Nomad: Instructions

The LibKey Nomad browser extension helps Advocate Health - Midwest teammates find full-text journal articles in the Library’s collections with one-click

Installation Instructions

The LibKey Nomad extension can be installed in Edge or Chrome on your Advocate computers, or in any browser on your personal computer. 

  1. Go to: https://thirdiron.com/downloadnomad/ and select "Get LibKey Nomad Now"
  2. Select your Browser. Chose Edge for Advocate Health devices.
  3. Select “Get” to download, then select “Add extension.”
  4. Search for and select “Advocate Health – Midwest Library.”

LibKey Nomad on the Web

On publisher websites, a LibKey Nomad button shows up in the bottom-left corner. Click the button to connect to the full text of an article.

 


In PubMed, small LibKey Nomad buttons show up under each reference in the PubMed search results, or on the article page. Click the small buttons to connect to the full text of an article.

LibKey Nomad Labels

The label you see on the LibKey Nomad extension differs depending on the type of access the Library has to the article. If you are not connected to the Advocate Health network, you may be prompted to login to SSO after you click the LibKey Nomad button.


Labels

Download PDF: In a single click, you will be connected to the PDF of the article.

Article Link: You will be connected to the full text of the article on a webpage. There may be an option to download the article as a PDF.

Manuscript PDF or Link: The article has been found in the form of an Accepted Manuscript in a repository. The content may appear as an unformatted Word document or PDF.

Access Options: The article is unavailable through the Library, but you will be taken to a form to place a request for the article.
