Purpose

The purpose of the AI Literacy Workgroup is to provide training and education on appraising and understanding AI tools that are used for scholarly research and writing. As information experts, librarians have a unique skillset for evaluating information tools. 

 Advocate Health teammates should visit Responsible Use of AI Hub before using any AI software.

Evaluation Questions

  1. What is the model or corpus this tool is built on? 

  2. How does the tool make money or how is it funded? Does it charge for use? 

  3. How does the tool handle your privacy and the content you provide it? 

  4. What is its stated purpose?  What are some of its useful features? 

  5. Is there a possibility to compare its accuracy what we would consider to be a gold standard? (optional) 

  6. Does it provide citations for its generated content? 

  7. Can you verify some of these citations? Are they relevant? 

  8. What can I use this for?  How does it make my work easier?
