Advocate Health is committed to advancing health equity by addressing disparities in access to care, clinical outcomes, and social drivers of health, particularly in underserved communities. Our enterprise-wide model focuses on addressing provider shortages, leveraging shared infrastructure and capabilities to improve the health, and deploying innovative delivery and care models.
Librarians support this goal by providing seamless, electronic access to robust health information resources for teammates wherever they might be working; creating curated lists of current resources for teammates working with specific populations; and we participate in and promote library resources at DEI fairs around the Midwest Region at Advocate Health hospitals.
Advocate Health teammates contribute to the advancing health equity through various projects, some of which result in publications and national or international conference presentations. The Advocate Health - Midwest Library has curated a list of recent publications and conference presentations related to safety and quality from SHARE, our institutional repository.
