  • Open the App Store on your mobile device.
  • Search for "AAP eBooks Reader".
  • Download the app.
  • Enter your AAP eBooks user name and password.

You should see a list of books available via the Advocate Health - Midwest Library's institutional subscription. To read a book, tap it. It should download to your device. Tap it again to access it and scroll through the book.

Tips for Using the App

  • If you want to find a specific book, you may want to use the magnifying glass icon at the top to search for a book by the title, e.g.,"Textbook of Neonatal Resuscitation."
  • After you have downloaded a book, you can switch from seeing all the books available (Cloud) to just those on your personal device (Device) at the bottom of the app screen.
  • When you are reading a book, if you would like to mark a page for future access, tap the bookmark icon. The icon will become visible by tapping at the top of the page you wish to mark.
  • If you would like to make notes or highlight text in a book, tap and hold until you see a pop up. Choose the appropriate option.
  • To navigate within the book you are reading, tap the top of the page and tap the book icon. This will bring up the table of contents and allow you to tap a chapter title to jump to that place in the book. This will also allow you to access your bookmarks, highlights and notes to refer back to or delete.
  • To exit a book and go back to the main list of books, tap the top of the page and tap the left arrow button.
