All resources are available in multiple languages. Each resource has a different selection of topics as well as different language availabilities.
Library Resources
These library resources offer patient education materials and handouts. The resources are restricted to Advocate Health - Midwest teammates and may require a login if accessing them remotely.
AccessMedicine: Patient EducationPatient education is divided into three sections: Adult Advisor, Medicines Advisor, and Pediatric Advisor. Handouts can be customized with contact information and a personalized message and then printed or downloaded as PDFs. The default language is English, but other languages are offered in a language preferences drop-down.
ClinicalKey: Patient EducationYou can search the list of topics by title or narrow the topics by discipline, authoring organization, or language. You can created tailored PDF handouts for patients with the option of adding special instructions and contact details. You can share patient education information as a printed handout or an electronic PDF file.

UpToDate Lexidrug (formerly Lexicomp): Patient EducationThe Patient Education Module provides the capability to print complete patient educational packets with information on medications, conditions, and/or procedures. This information is available in up to 19 languages - all content is in English and Spanish.
Free Online Resources
These websites are freely available and can be accessed by anyone. Providers can share these websites with patients as a source for reliable, online health information.
MedlinePlus This link opens in a new windowReliable and easy-to-read health information for patients in English and Spanish (more languages as available). Subjects include health topics, medical encyclopedia, genetics, drugs & supplements, medical tests, and healthy recipes.
