Chicago Public Library Online Resources Overview

Chicago Public Library (CPL) provides access to online resources for residents of Chicago. The online resources are licensed and paid for by Chicago Public Library.

How to Access Chicago Public Library Resources

Log into CPL online resources with your Chicago Public Library card. 

If you don't have a Chicago Public Library card, and you are a resident of Chicago, you can apply for an eCard.

If you reside outside of Chicago, but your local public library is an Illinois Reciprocal Library, you can visit a CPL location to apply for a Chicago Public Library card. Learn more in the FAQ titled "Can I get a library card if I don't live in Chicago?"
