The Nursing Experts: Translating the Evidence (NExT) project is a collaborative effort between nurses and Health Science Librarians of Illinois members at several organizations. This project is intended to educate nurses on where to find free and reliable evidence-based resources and how to apply this knowledge to inform and impact practice. Some of the topics covered in the program include: evidence-based practice, using the PICO model, appraising evidence, and translating evidence into practice. Participants will complete online education modules along with pre- and post- surveys to earn 7 free continuing education units.

Continuing education units are provided by the Chi Sigma Chapter of Sigma Theta Tau International and Western Illinois University School of Nursing who is approved by the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation –Illinois Nurse Practice Act – Continuing Education (CE) Requirements [Section 1300.130 c)1)N)] accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education.
