Aurora Medical Center Summit Library to Transform

by Karen Hanus, MLIS, AHIP on 2023-01-06T13:19:50-06:00 in Aurora Medical Center in Summit | 0 Comments

We would like to share that our Library at Aurora Medical Center Summit will be ceasing on-site operations and transitioning to virtual services at the end of January 2023.

Library services have evolved over time to require less of a physical presence. The AMCS Library will transition to virtual services and the physical library space will be reallocated. The services of our librarian such as literature searches, document delivery, and reference information will continue to be provided, but virtually. Librarian Mini Prasad can visit AMCS on-site for in-person presentations and meetings as needed or participate in meetings virtually. The circulation of physical books and materials will no longer be provided at Aurora Medical Center Summit. Physical books and materials can still be accessed at other physical Advocate Aurora Library locations including ASLMC, AWAMC, ASMC, and AMCG.

On January 30 and 31, the Library will be hosting an open house with refreshments from 1-3:30PM, where team members will be invited to claim hard copy materials not transferred to another library location. Additionally, this will provide an opportunity to thank librarian Mini Prasad for her 13 years of service in the physical library as she transitions her role to a remote status.

Aurora Medical Center Summit team members who need virtual services from the Library may visit the Advocate Aurora Library web site at https://library.aah.org/ or communicate directly with Mini.
